About Us

Adapte, what is it?

Adapte is a unique online learning system that lets you evaluate and adjust your office workstation yourself to get the most out of the equipment you’re using. It leads you through a step-by-step process of arranging your work environment and adjusting your chair, keyboard, mouse and monitor/screen. Note, however, that it is a basic tool that does not replace the expertise of an ergonomist or healthcare professional. If this is your first time using Adapte, we recommend that you go through each step because the order of the adjustments is important. At certain points we’ll ask you to select an environment or a device that best fits your situation. Make your selection and the appropriate information capsules will be displayed.

It assists you, step by step, in designing your work environment and adjusting your chair, keyboard, mouse and screen. Please note that this is a first-line tool and does not replace the expertise of an ergonomist or health professional. If you're a first-time user, we suggest that you don't skip any steps, as some adjustments should be made in the order presented.

Occasionally, we'll ask you to select an environment or element that corresponds to your situation. Make your choice and the information capsules will adapt to your reality.

Who created Adapte?

The APSSAP (Association paritaire pour la santé et la sécurité du travail, secteur Administration provinciale) was founded in November 1983 following an agreement between employer and employee representatives.L

As a recognized leader, avant-gardist and effective promoter of prevention, its mission is to encourage joint responsibility for prevention in matters of health, safety and physical integrity of people in the Provincial Administration sector. Its purpose is to provide training, information, consulting and technical assistance services to workers and managers in the sector it represents.

The Provincial Administration sector includes the government, its departments and agencies, whose personnel are appointed or remunerated in accordance with the Public Service Act (R.S.Q., c. F-3.1). Several other organizations and accredited associations are also part of this sector.
